The rocha pear is a variety of pear from the “Rocha” pear tree, mainly grown in Portugal. This type of pear, with a protected designation of origin (PDO), has a smooth green to yellow skin with small pinkish spots that appear when exposed to the sun. Produced in Europe, this variety is available on the shelves throughout the year. Its mild, melt-in-the-mouth flavour and sweet, white flesh make it the 6th most consumed fruit in France.
The rocha pear is very low in calories, rich in slow sugars, fibre and vitamins.
