Rocha Pear

The **Rocha pear** is a pear variety derived from the ‘Rocha’ pear tree, primarily cultivated in Portugal. This type of pear, which benefits from a Protected Designation of Origin (**PDO** – Appellation d’Origine Protégée or AOP in French), has smooth skin ranging in color from green to yellow, with small pink spots that appear when exposed to the sun. Produced extensively throughout Europe, this variety is available on stalls all year round. Its mild, melting flavor, along with its white and sweet flesh, makes it the 6th most consumed fruit in France.

The Rocha pear is very low in calories, rich in complex carbohydrates (slow-release sugars), fiber, and vitamins.
